Winners for the 2014 GCSSEPM Graduate Student Poster Contest!
The GCSSEPM Executive Council is very pleased to announce the award winners in the inaugural student poster competition for the 2014 Bob F. Perkins Research Conference. The winners and their research topics are:
FIRST PLACE: Dan Coleff, University of Houston, Geomechanical and acoustic properties measurements on reconsolidated mudrock constituents at reservoir stresses. |

SECOND PLACE: Evelyn Gannaway, University of Texas at El Paso, Comparison of the depositional and halokinetic history of suprasalt and subsalt minibasins at Patawarta Diapir, Flinders Ranges, South Australia. |

THIRD PLACE (tie): Brian Ott (above), University of Houston, Role of the offshore Pedro Banks left-lateral strike-slip fault zone in the plate tectonic evolution of the northern Caribbean. Karilys Castillo (no photo), University of Houston, Paleogeography of the Cenozoic passive margin of northeastern South America in eastern Venezuela and Trinidad from seismic data and well information. |
We offer our congratulations to these aspiring geologists and geophysicists. Each received free admission to the 2014 Bob F. Perkins Research Conference.
In addition, all poster competition finalists were invited to a free 1-day short course on the Structural and Stratigraphic Framework, Northern Gulf of Mexico.
